Mrs. Heather Ciolek
Hello! This is my six year teaching 3rd grade at Rising Sun Elementary School, and it is my 27th year as an elementary school teacher. Throughout my career, I have taught 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. I have always enjoyed working with children, so becoming a teacher was an easy decision.
I was born in southern New Jersey, where my family operated a dairy farm. I grew to respect animals, and I was very active in 4-H. Just before high school, my family moved to Elizabethtown, PA. Today I live in Oxford, PA with my husband and two very active children, whom we were blessed to adopt. My daughter, Zoey, is excited to be in 7th grade this year, and my son, Cody, is in 5th grade this year.
My career and family keep me very busy, but when I get a few spare moments, I enjoy reading mystery novels and thrillers, running, hiking, cooking, going to the beach, and spending time with friends. My favorite color is purple, my favorite foods are pizza and dark chocolate, and my favorite sports team is the Philadelphia Eagles. I am looking forward to another great school year at RSES!

Mrs. Kate Frank
I love teaching 3rd grade at Rising Sun! This is my 21st year teaching in Cecil County and my 11th year at Rising Sun Elementary School. I
previously taught at Gilpin Manor Elementary. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade during my time with CCPS.
I received my undergraduate degree from Penn State University and my Master's degree from McDaniel College. I am a huge Penn State fan!
I enjoy reading, fishing, painting, and crafting. I also enjoy boating and traveling the world with my husband and two step-daughters, Jessica
and Julia. Julia is a freshman at the University of South Carolina, and Jessica is a senior at The University of Alabama! I love animals and have
three dogs (Oscar, Gilbert, & Skye), one fish, and six chickens! I'm looking forward to another great year at RSES!

Mrs. Kelly Ryan
I am so excited to be teaching third grade at Rising Sun Elementary! This is my 13th year of teaching and my second year teaching third grade at Rising Sun. I previously taught at Thomson Estates Elementary and I taught 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade at TEES. Prior to teaching in Cecil County, I taught 6th grade in Baltimore City. I have my undergraduate degree from West Chester University (where I am from!) and my master's degree from University of New England. In my spare time, I love spending time with my husband and my stepson. We enjoy going to the beach and visiting Disney World! I also like to cook, read, play the flute and spend time with my two dogs and cat.
